Glasgow headlines 11 May: a teenager has been left in critical condition following a car crash

A 13 year old boy has been left in critical condition after being hit by a car on Balmore Road.

He was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children by ambulance where he remains, while a police investigation is underway, and witnesses are being urged to come forward.

Next up, data has revealed that since the Scottish Government introduced a ban on single-use plastics in June last year, making it illegal for businesses to supply the items, not a single fine has been issued.

Despite this, environmental campaigners have said the use is still widespread, with takeaways across Glasgow used in an experiment.

And finally, plans to build flats beside the River Kelvin at Otago Lane have been approved by the council despite over 750 objections.

Those against the decision argued the construction would cause a significant loss of daylight to existing properties and major distribution to businesses.

Plans include three flat blocks and a total of 49 new homes.
