A man from Govan has been banned from flying with Jet2 after his behaviour forced a flight bound to Turkey to divert.

The passenger’s behaviour included the “illicit consumption of alcohol, physical and verbal aggression”, which resulted in him being restrained by staff onboard.

He was met by Bulgarian authorities when the plane landed and was given a lifetime ban by the airline.

Next up, passengers on a bus running to Clydebank were forced to evacuate after rocks were thrown at the vehicle.

The incident affected the 1B service and First Bus confirmed that nobody had been injured but windows had been smashed in the process.

And in other news, up to 100 staff members of the City of Glasgow College are set to be made redundant in an attempt to tackle a £6 million deficit.

It is being described as a last resort move by the institution with bosses pointing to real term funding cuts, rising inflation, spiralling energy costs and increased staff costs.

A consultation process for the job cuts has been launched and is expected to take around 45 days.
