William the Conqueror is a 2015 biographical/drama/historical TV film directed by Frédéric Compain, starring Pierre Bouet, François Neveux, Edward Impey and Vincent Deniard.
Plot: It tells of William the Conqueror when he is about to embark from Dives-sur-Mer to conquer England in the year 1066.
William's father, Duke Robert, declares William his heir before setting out on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. The barons swear allegiance. However, Robert dies and William, still a child, has to flee.
During 1066, William receives a messenger from Norway. Presumably this tells him that Harold Hardrada is invading England which will draw Harold Godwinson north and make conquest much more likely.
