Just 3 days after his son Asad’s encounter, mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on April 15. The mafia-turned-politician was being taken for a medical by the police.

Asad Ahmed was gunned down on April 13 in UP’s Jhansi. Atiq Ahmed was accused in the 2005 BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case and also in the Umesh Pal abduction case. Further details are awaited.
