Poila Baisakh 2023: Poila Boisakh, also known as Pohela Baisakh is an important festival celebrated by Bengali communities in West Bengal, Tripura, Jharkhand and Assam. This festival marks the Bengali New Year and has great significance. The day is considered an auspicious day to start new ventures, make new purchases and organize new get-togethers. On this day people wear traditional clothes, prepare special dishes and visit temples to offer prayers. Apart from this, different processions and fairs are also organized where people enjoy music and dance.
