Central District Police busted a racket on April 12 that used to print fake tickets for IPL matches and apprehended five people, including three minors, all residents of Mumbai. They visited cities that host IPL matches to sell fake tickets at prices twice or thrice the original rates. A case was registered and further investigation is underway.
DCP (Central) Sanjay Kumar Sain said, “A special team was constituted. It first apprehended 3 people and seized 24 tickets from them. They were selling them at thrice the original rate. Later, another person was caught and forged tickets were seized. A total of five people were then nabbed.”
