Elon Musk has sparked a row after labeling the BBC as “government-funded media." Britain's national broadcaster was quick to push back against the categorization and said its main source of revenue is the license fee it charges in the UK.
The label now appears on outlets that receive some government funding, including the BBC, PBS, NPR, and the Voice of America. However, it does not appear on other government-backed outlets like Canada's CBC or Qatar's Al Jazeera.
