A train is defined as a means of transportation in the form of a vehicle with motion power, either running alone or coupled with other vehicles, which will or is currently moving on the rails. Thus, trains can only move/run on rail tracks/networks that are in accordance with their designation, this is an advantage because they are not disturbed by other traffic, but on the other hand it makes trains an inflexible mode of transportation because the network is limited but comfortable.

A train is a means of mass transportation which generally consists of a locomotive (a vehicle with a self-propelled motion) and a series of trains or carriages (coupled with other vehicles). The series of trains or carriages are relatively wide in size so that they can accommodate passengers and goods on a large scale. For the transportation of goods in large quantities, a series of more than 50 trains pulled and/or pushed by several locomotives can be used, such as the babaranjang train (long series of coal trains) in South Sumatra.
The train is an efficient means of transportation for a high number of passengers, so it is very suitable for urban rail mass transportation in congested corridors, but is also used for medium-distance passenger transportation of up to 3 or 4 hours of travel or for transportation of goods in large quantities in the form of bulk, such as for coal transportation. Because of its nature as an effective mass transportation, several countries are trying to make maximum use of it as the main means of land transportation both within cities, between cities, and between countries.
