Gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed and two others were sentenced to life imprisonment in the 2006 Umesh Pal kidnapping case. As reported by NDTV, seven others, including Atiq Ahmed's brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf, have been acquitted.
