The suggestion to separate the powers of the Attorney General and the Public Prosecutor is being studied carefully, especially due to the complexities of the task and its financial implications, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister said this in reply to a supplementary question from Chiew Choon Man (Miri-PH) on Tuesday (March 28) on whether the government is ready to separate the Public Prosecutor’s office from the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) in the near future, in order to prevent selective political prosecution.
