A man was found dead following a flat fire in Renton on 25 March, and police are treating the case as suspicious.

Additional officers have been sent to the area to provide reassurance to the local community as enquiries are ongoing.

Next, Glasgow City Council is considering writing off all unpaid school meal debt to relieve pressure from families.

The SNP proposal will be put forward for a vote on 30 March, and if approved, it is expected to clear around £300,000.

Councillor Christina Cannon said inflation has raised food insecurity in Glasgow “in ways that have not been seen for decades”.

And in other news, the world’s largest commercial airliner returned to Glasgow on 26 March, for the first time since September 2019.

The Emirates Airbus A380 was reintroduced for flights between Scotland and Dubai, and was welcomed back to the sound of bagpipes.

The aircraft is 34 meters high with a wingspan of 80 metres.
