Jelutong MP RSN Rayer has urged the Dewan Rakyat to take stern action against Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for lodging a police report against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over his parliamentary reply regarding the Yayasan Al-bukhary’s tax exemption status.

Rayes told the House on Monday (March 27) that Ahmad Fayhsal’s action was “excessive” and “irrelevant”, that the latter should have referred the matter to the Parliamentary Rights and Privileges Committee instead.

Deputy Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Ramli Mohd Nor then said parliamentary proceedings were immune from prosecution, and agreed with Beluran MP Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee that such a complaint should be made in writing to the Speaker.
