In northern Colombia, poverty and lack of clean water are taking their toll on the Indigenous Wayuu community. At least 20 children have died of starvation in La Guajira department in the first four months of leftist President Gustavo Petro's new government. The leftist president, who took office in August 2022, has acknowledged that this is the first "failure" of his presidency.
