इस साल महिलाओं को प्रिय देवी शीतला माता का 'शीतल सप्तमी' पर्व चैत्र कृष्ण सप्तमी तिथि मंगलवार यानी 14 मार्च को है. इसे चौराहा पर्व भी कहते हैं. यह व्रत विशेष रूप से पुत्रों की दीर्घायु के लिए रखा जाता है. ऐसी मान्यता है कि इस दिन माता को घर पर एक दिन पहले बने ठंडे या बासी भोजन का भोग लगाया जाता है. फिर इसी भोग को प्रसाद यानी भोजन के रूप में ग्रहण करने की परंपरा है.

This year, the 'Sheetal Saptami' festival of Goddess Sheetla Mata, dear to women, is on Chaitra Krishna Saptami Tithi, Tuesday i.e. 14 March. It is also called Chauraha festival. This fast is especially observed for the longevity of sons. It is believed that on this day mother is offered cold or stale food made at home a day before. Then there is a tradition of taking this bhog in the form of Prasad i.e. food.
