The Arlington Renegades used a fourth-quarter touchdown to edge the Orlando Guardians, 10-9, on Sunday at Choctaw Stadium. QB Kyle Sloter, making his first start of the season, connected with WR Tyler Vaughns for a 17-yard score to tie the game at 9-9 with 7:58 remaining before RB De’Veon Smith punched in a go-ahead extra point try. The Renegades (2-1) improved to 2-0 at home this season and kept the Guardians (0-3) winless on the year.

The score was tied at 3-3 through three quarters, with the only scoring coming on first-quarter field goals by K Jose Borregales for Orlando and K Taylor Russolino for Arlington. The Renegades, who entered Week 3 with an XFL-best 6 turnovers, recovered 2 more fumbles today to add to their league-leading total. LB Edmond Robinson forced a fumble in the first quarter that was recovered by LB Donald Payne, and NT Josiah Coatney recovered another fumble late in the second quarter. The Guardians scored their only touchdown on a 3-yard rush by QB Paxton Lynch on the first play of the fourth quarter, but the Renegades stopped the extra-point try to keep the game within reach.

Arlington heads to the road for its next two games, with the next scheduled for Sunday, March 12 at the St. Louis Battlehawks (3 pm CT on ESPN2). The Renegades' next home game is slated for Sunday, March 26 vs. the San Antonio Brahmas (2 pm CT on ABC).
