New research reveals that young shrimp make "catastrophic" shock waves to stun their opponents by snapping their claws. They use their spring-loaded claws to snap like a bullet to rip through the water and make a vapour-filled bubble. This bubble, invisible to the naked eye, then implodes, incapacitating their rivals with a click that takes less than a millisecond. Shrimps can be seen demonstrating this action in the clips in this video from the study. Source: PA
