The art of warfare has evolved dramatically with the advent of modern technology. But one thing about war has not changed. To win the war, it is still important to hide the true strength of your army and the size of your arsenal from your enemies. Major military secrets are only revealed to a select few who can be trusted to carry out the mission.

For this reason, the U.S. government cannot release all information about national defense tools and tactics to those it has sworn to serve. So there must be at least some instances where weapons of war were developed and used without the knowledge of the American public (or the rest of the world).
