One local government councillor is calling on the government to utilize some of the money it expects to earn from the Dragon gas deal with Venezuela to assist the migrant population in Trinidad and Tobago.

Councillor for Cedros, Shankar Teelucksingh says in his district alone, there are hundreds of Venezuelan migrants who cannot access healthcare for their families and schooling for their children.

He spoke with our reporter Cindy Raghubar-Teekersingh on Thursday.
