"The BBC Documentary on PM Modi called the ""Modi Question"" has led to a big controversy in the country. The first part of the documentary was released last week. While the link of the documentary was being widely shared by the critics of PM Modi and his political opponents, the government asked social media platforms Youtube and Twitter to remove it. India also termed it Propaganda piece and reflects colonial mindset. Well, twitter also blocked some 50 odd tweets that contained the links to the documentary. While some shared archived links, yesterday it turned out that the link was deleted from Internet archive too.
Documentary revisited the violence that played out in Gujarat in the aftermath of burning of a train in Godhra, during PM Modi's term as the state's Chief Minister.
However, in a pushback of sorts, student unions of some universities have organized a screening of the documentary in their campuses. A day ago, students in Hyderabad University screened the first part of the documentary. Yesterday, the Jawaharlal Nehru University students decided to screen the documentary on the campus. But the attempt led to chaos, stone pelting and violence on the university campus. The matter took a political turn when the students alleged that it were ABVP members that pelted stones and injured some people.
What exactly happened yesterday on JNU campus? and where else this documentary is being screened? Let's talk about it
