Such buns are so popular in South Korea that are lined up for. Original taste, crispy crust and balmy glaze make these buns special. No particular effort is needed to cook Korean buns at home, no need to deal with a dough just use ready bun and in 25 minutes golden-brown Korean buns are on your table. We are sure having tasted once you will discover surprising mix of tastes and want to cook it another times.
✅ Ingredients:
• 4 buns (in our recipe we use buns Ø 4 in / 10 cm 2 oz / 65 g each)
• cream cheese – 9 oz / 250 g
• sugar – 2 tbsp / 30 g for cheese,1/4 cup / 50 g for sauce
• 1 egg
• lemon juice – 1 tsp
• butter – 2 oz / 60 g
• garlic – 1,5 oz / 40 g
• milk – 2 tbsp
• home-made mayonnaise – 1 tbsp
• dried parsley – 1 tbsp
✅ You will need:
• oven
• 2 deep bowls
• carving board
• blender or whisk
• baking tray
• parchment paper
• piping bag
Preparation:
1. Mix the cream cheese, 2 tbsp / 30 g of sugar and lemon juice until smooth. Lay the cheese paste into a piping bag.
2. Melt the butter and cool, add the chopped up garlic, an egg, milk, mayonnaise, 1/4 cup / 50 g of sugar and dried parsley and mix well.
3. Pipe the prepared cheese paste between the bun wedges.
4. Dip the bun into the garlic sauce from both sides so that the whole bun is coated with the sauce and put it on the baking tray covered with a parchment paper sheet.
5. Pipe out a bit of paste into the middle of each bun.
6. Preheat oven to 340°F / 170°C and bake the buns for 15 minutes until golden brown.
❗️Advices:
1. You can take buns of any size, if smaller then bake for 3-4 minutes less.
2. Sweet buns are preferable for the recipe.
