Walmart ($WMT@US) announced a deal with Salesforce ($CRM@US) on Thursday to sell its technology and services. The retail giant, known for selling groceries, clothing, electronics, and home goods, will be working with Salesforce to sell its in-house software. The deal would make Walmart’s GoLocal delivery service, which drops off orders to customers’ homes, and Store Assist, which helps employees pick and pack online orders more efficiently, available to other retailers to purchase. Embarking in this new market makes Walmart more resilient in a slowing economy. Its services will be offered through Salesforce starting this spring.
