Known for their elite combat capabilities and multi-tasking abilities, the Indian Air Force’s special unit Garud Commando Force has been deployed in high-altitude positions along the China border for specialist operations. They have been deployed on the Line of Actual Control since May 2020.
The Garud special forces have proven their mettle in the terrorist operations in the Kashmir Valley and air base security.
The Indian Air force has also equipped the latest weapons in their arsenal, which includes American Sig Sauer assault rifles, AK-103, and many others. Garud Commandos have been deployed on the LAC to counter and if necessary, give befitting replies to Chinese aggression.
The invincible troops also carry Galil sniper rifles and Negev light machine guns to destroy the enemy troops under a range of 800-1000 metres. The Garud commandos are specialised in rescuing hostiles, suppressing the enemy air defence and radar busing.
