Derbyshire Police have released body camera footage showing the arrest of Damien Bendall after he murdered his pregnant partner, her two children and her daughter's friend in Killmarsh, near Sheffield.Bendall was handed a whole-life order on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to the 2021 murders of 35-year-old Terri Harris, her 11-year-old daughter Lacey Bennett, her son John Paul Bennett, 13, and Lacey’s friend Connie Gent, also 11, at the home he shared with Ms Harris.He also admitted raping Lacey during what prosecutor Louis Mably KC told the court were “brutal, vicious and cruel attacks on a defenceless woman” and young children.Sentencing Bendall for four counts of murder and one of rape, High Court judge Mr Justice Sweeney said family impact statements attested in moving terms to each victim who had been “so horrifically taken away” and their families’ “utter devastation”.The police body camera footage shows the moment Bendall told a police officer that he had killed four people. Police then found the four victims inside the house.Derbyshire Police also released CCTV footage showing Bendall's movements around the time of the murders.
