Marjorie Wallace was an investigative journalist on The Sunday Times in 1982 when she first wrote about twin sisters June and Jennifer Gibbons, who refused to speak to adults and were sent to Broadmoor after committing petty crimes as teenagers. Speaking about June's death at 29 on Woman's Hour, ahead of the release of The Silent Twins film, Marjorie said her surviving sister, who she remains close friends with, had finally been liberated from the childhood pact the sisters had made.
