Women gather in Piccadilly Circus, London, to protest against the "systematic oppression" of women in Iran and cut their hair in support of their "sisters fighting for freedom" in the Islamic country. They chant "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" (Kurdish for "women, life, freedom") the international rallying cry of the Iranian protesters. According to the NGO Iran Human Rights, based in Norway, the repression of demonstrations in Iran has killed at least 416 people, of whom 51 were children, in the last two months.
