Cyclone Sitrang is intensifying and moving towards Bangladesh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for West Bengal and Northeast. As per IMD, On Monday October 24, around 3:17 am, the cyclone was 520 km south of Sagar Island in Bengal and 670 km south-southwest of Barisal in Bangladesh. IMD has issued an advisory, warning against offshore activities in Bengal's coastal districts (North and South 24 Parganas and Purba Medinipur) on October 24 and 25. IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in the northeast as well. Watch the video to know more.
