Close to 70,000 people have been affected by floods in five districts of Assam, reported ANI. Incessant rains have created havoc in the state leading to the third wave of floods since October 7. Flood situation in Dhemaji district is grim. As reported by ANI, nearly 38,774 people including 7,885 children have been affected by the deluge. 76 villages and 2,838 hectares of cropland in the Dhemaji district are currently underwater.
