Introduction
Boiled Egg Tikka is a delicious egg recipe in a street style. This mouth-watering dish is from the city of Baroda, India. This dish contains bits and pieces of eggs, hence, the use of the word 'tikka' is justified. This recipe contains a few of the simplest ingredients for the base, i.e., onions and tomatoes, with eggs being the key ingredient. It is easy to make and can be prepared with basic pantry ingredients and is best served with buttered bread (pav).
Boiled Egg Tikka Ingredients :
Preparing the Tikka
2 tbsp Butter
2 Dry Red Chillies (broken)
3 Onions (chopped)
2 tbsp Ginger, Garlic & Green Chillies (crushed)
3 Tomatoes (chopped)
1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
2 tsp Egg Masala Powder (recipe given below)
Water (as required)
Salt (as per taste)
Coriander Leaves (chopped)
4 Eggs (boiled & chopped)
1 tsp Butter
For Garnish
Coriander Leaves (chopped)
Onion (sliced)
1/2 Lemon
For Bread
1 tsp Butter
4-5 Pav
EGG MASALA POWDER-
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp cloves
1 tsp fennel
1 tsp cumin
3 star anise
2 bay leaves
1-inch cinnamon
4 green cardamoms
3 dry chillies,
¾ tsp asafetida
1 tsp kasuri methi
1 tsp chaat masala
Method: Roast all the ingredients gently and then add the asafetida and chaat masala and grind to a fine powder and keep aside.
