India has taken cognizance of rising hate crimes in Canada. India has strongly condemned the defacing of BAPS Swaminarayan temple in Canada. The Ministry of External Affairs has issued an advisory and asked Indian nationals in Canada to remain vigilant.

India on Friday issued an advisory, asking its nationals in Canada to 'exercise due caution and remain vigilant' amid a spike in hate crimes, sectarian violence and anti-India activities.
