Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon was the mother of Queen Elizabeth II. After her marriage, she received the courtesy title of Duchess of York from 1923 to 1936, and from 1936 to 1952 she was Queen Consort of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions.
