Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan on September 14, 2022, for a three-day visit to the central Asian nation and neighbouring Uzbekistan, state news agency Xinhua said of his first trip outside China in more than 2½ years. He is expected to meet Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO)  summit in the Uzbek city of Samarkand.
