The age and disability support pensions, along with the carer payment, will rise by almost 39 dollars a fortnight for singles, and 59 dollars for couples. But the cost of living is set to increase again, with the temporary cut to the fuel excise ending later this month. Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil says the government takes the issue seriously.
