Notting Hill Carnival crowds were seen screaming and forced to climb over gates as thousands were ended up packed into one road with no space.
Footage of the incident filmed by a resident on Ladbroke Grove shows thousands of people packed in like sardines and move in wave-like surges as people desperately try to get through.
The clip has been viewed nearly 3,000,000 times on TikTok with nearly 130,000 likes.
The filmer explained that this was not an ongoing occurrence through the Bank Holiday Monday edition of the carnival, but an isolated incident.
They said: "It was definitely just an individual moment, there was sufficient crowd control.
"[There was] designated flow in the surrounding roads but maybe they thought Ladbroke Grove was wide enough to cope?
"The mad rush was only a one-moment thing as the parade was coming to a close and people needed to move in opposing directions to get out and go home.
"It was an unprecedented amount of people this year and clearly unexpected and unplanned for."
