Fires in Serra da Estrela flared up on Monday, 15 August, in the area of Vale da Amoreira (Amoreira Valley), in the municipality of Manteigas (Guarda). A village and the campsite of Valhelhas, in the municipality of Guarda, had to be evacuated.
