Push to scrap mandatory sentencing amid prison overcrowding in NT

A group of Northern Territory lawyers have renewed a push for changes to mandatory sentencing amid chaos at Darwin prison. The Criminal Lawyers' Association of the Northern Territory says pressures on Darwin's adult facility has left some prisoners with no access to their lawyers and at times, no flushing toilets.
