During a joint press conference with the Statistics Department on Malaysia’s second quarter (Q2) of 2022 economic performance on Friday, Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus said the nation’s economy expanded 8.9% year-on-year in Q2 which was significantly higher than the median expectation of 6.7% growth by a Reuters poll of economists.
