Former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar met with the party high command 20 days back in Delhi, sources told India Today.
Earlier, Senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa rejected the speculation that the Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai would be replaced ahead of assembly polls next year.
BS Yediyurappa said, "There is no question of CM change. There are rumors that there will be some changes in the chief minister's post. Basavaraj Bommai will continue as CM for another 8 months."
Bommai, who took over from Yediyurappa as Chief Minister, completed one year in office on July 28.
Meanwhile, the next Assembly elections in Karnataka are likely to be held before May 2023.
