There's a fresh push to give the ACT and Northern Territory the power to legislate voluntary assisted dying with a bill to restore territory rights introduced in federal parliament. A 25-year-old ban, the result of the so-called Andrews Bill, has survived multiple attempts to overturn it, but supporters of the Private Members Bill believe there's never been a better chance for success.
