Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut was arrested at midnight on August 01 after hours of questioning in an alleged land scam case.

“Sanjay Raut has been arrested. BJP is afraid of him and got him arrested. They haven't given us any document (regarding his arrest). He has been framed. He will be produced in court tomorrow at 11.30 AM,” his brother and Shiv Sena leader Sunil Raut told mediapersons.

On July 31, Enforcement Directorate officials seized Rs 11.50 lakh unaccounted cash from the residence of Sanjay Raut.
