The 2019 Jaguar I-Pace is the company's first all-electric vehicle, and its sleek bodywork and cutting-edge cabin make it one of the most fashionable EV's on the market. The electrified compact luxury crossover also happens to be really fun to drive, which helped it earn a spot on our 2019 Editors' Choice list. While it competes with established EV rivals such as the Tesla Model X—and ranks among the best hybrid and electric vehicles currently on the market—the Jaguar I-Pace still has a shorter driving range than the Tesla.

Powertrain, Charging, and Handling
The 2019 I-Pace boasts all-wheel drive thanks to two electric motors that produce a combined 394 horsepower and 512 lb-ft of torque. That energy provides quick and effortless acceleration, which included a blistering 4.3-second rip from zero to 60 mph in our instrumented test. Every I-Pace features a 90.0-kWh battery pack that provides an EPA-rated driving range of 234 miles; the Model X has an estimated range of up to 295 miles. Still, the electric Jag includes a standard DC fast-charging port that allows 80 percent of its battery to be replenished in as little as 40 minutes. Behind the wheel, the I-Pace has impressive agility, satisfying steering feedback, and a comfortable ride courtesy of its standard air suspension.

Interior and Technology

Jaguar complements the I-Pace's stylish exterior with a sophisticated interior that boasts a flashy dashboard and ample passenger space. Likewise, there's useful interior cubby storage and various desirable options. While the I-Pace has a host of luxurious standard features such as a panoramic sunroof and an infrared windshield that helps reduce heat build-up on hot days, every model also includes a touchscreen infotainment system with a mobile hotspot and navigation. The standard suite of driver-assistance technology includes automated emergency braking and lane-keeping assist, but additional content such as adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring are available.
