Supporters of Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) and O. Panneerselvam (OPS) clashed on the streets of Chennai on Monday after the Madras High Court allowed the AIADMK general council meeting to be held on July 11. The high court had rejected a plea by OPS to stall the meeting where the agenda would be to revive the interim general secretary post and abolish coordinator as well as joint coordinator posts.

As per the party bylaws, the general council members can take action against party leaders if they are found violating the party's regulations.
