The Madras High Court gave the green signal for the AIADMK general council meeting to be held in Chennai on Monday, July 11. Justice Krishnan Ramasamy rejected a plea by O Panneerselvam to stall the meeting where the agenda would be to revive the interim general secretary post and abolish coordinator as well as joint coordinator posts.

Hours before the Madras High Court decision, Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) and O Panneerselvam (OPS) factions resorted to stone-pelting. Supporters of both leaders attacked each other with sticks and chairs on the streets.
