That scene of economic devastation is visible in Sri Lanka, which can keep anyone shuddering. People are fascinated by grain in homes. Hundreds of vehicles have been queuing at petrol pumps for days, waiting to get oil at some point. There is a power cut for hours and hours. If necessary medicines are not available, then people are longing for daily essentials. Inflation is such that even the things that are available in the shops, their prices have increased manifold. There is a debt of billions of dollars on the country.

श्रीलंका में आर्थिक तबाही का वो मंज़र दिखाई दे रहा है, जो किसी को भी कंपा कर रख सकता है। घरों में लोग दाने-दाने को मोहताज हैं। पेट्रोल पंपों पर सैकड़ों वाहन कई-कई दिनों से कतार में हैं, इस इंतज़ार में कि कभी ना कभी उन्हें तेल मिलेगा। घंटों-घंटों तक बिजली गुल रखी जाती है। ज़रूरी दवाएं नहीं मिल पा रहीं तो रोज़मर्रा की ज़रुरी चीज़ों के लिए लोग तरस रहे हैं। महंगाई ऐसी है, कि जो चीज़ें दुकानों पर मिल भी रही हैं, उसके दाम कई-कई गुना बढ़ चुके हैं। देश पर अरबों डॉलर का कर्ज़ चढ़ा हुआ है..
