16 people were killed and 40 were missing after a flash flood triggered by a cloudburst hit a camp near the Amarnath cave shrine in J&K’s Ganderbal district on July 8. The cloudburst occurred around 6 pm, and the flash flood washed away a part of the camp with officials estimating that at least 25 tents were hit. Rescue operations are being conducted by the Indian Army, J&K Police, SDRF CRPF, NDRF, and security forces.
