Brazilian model-turned soldier, Thalito Do Valle who had joined Ukraine’s resistance against Russia, was killed on June 30 in the country’s eastern city of Kharkiv. She was killed while her team was providing cover to a village that Russian soldiers had recently vacated. Valle was a trained sniper who had also fought against the Islamic State in Iraq where she had fought with the Kurdish Peshmerga forces.
