The US Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 Roe vs Wade ruling that recognised a woman’s constitutional right to an abortion on June 24, 2022. Following the ruling, protests erupted against the court’s decision. US President Joe Biden said it was a “sad day” for the country, but added that the fight is “not over”. While opinion polls have shown that a majority of Americans support abortion rights, many anti-abortion supporters were also seen celebrating after the ruling.
