"Shiv Sena leader Milind Narvekar met Eknath Shinde and other rebel party MLAs camped in Gujarat’s Surat on Tuesday. During the meeting that lasted for nearly two hours, Milind Narvekar made Eknath Shinde speak to Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray over the phone, as per sources.
Eknath Shinde claimed he has 35 MLAs with him, adding that if Uddhav Thackeray is ready to ally with the BJP, there won't be a split in the Shiv Sena party, sources added. The sources further said that Eknath Shinde told Uddhav Thackeray that he was not eyeing the CM’s post and that there was no need to take action against him (Eknath Shinde was removed as Sena CLP leader earlier today).
Eknath Shinde reportedly expressed his displeasure with Shiv Sena workers holding demonstrations against him. Sources further said that CM Uddhav Thackeray told Eknath Shinde that the BJP was harassing Shiv Sena leaders and workers.
Speaking against a possible alliance with the BJP, Uddhav Thackeray told Eknath Shinde that the saffron party had also mistreated the Shiv Sena in the past. In response, Eknath Shinde told the CM that the decision was his, adding that the MLAs in Surat have issue with Sena aligning with the NCP and the Congress.
Meanwhile, amid crisis in Shivsena, 10 Congress MLAs too reportedly went incommunicado. The Congress party said that it is closely watching the development. and has asked the MLAs to stay put in Mumbai itself.
