The nation's top health officials have signed off on lifting the mask mandate at airports. States could now move to ditch the measure as soon as Friday- although masks will still be required onboard planes. Clinical epidemiologist Nancy Baxter says although there isn't a higher risk of catching COVID in airports masks remain an important tool to suppress transmission of the virus.
