Twitter To Reportedly Comply , With Elon Musk’s Demands for Data.
'The Washington Post' reports that Twitter's board plans to offer Musk access to its data of over 500 million tweets posted every day.
An anonymous person close to the situation disclosed the information.
The move is intended to advance Musk's $44 billion deal to buy the platform.
He's recently threatened to walk away from the
agreement unless Twitter provides data to determine
the amount of fake users and bots on the platform.
Musk and his legal team contend that the data is necessary to understand how the company's ad revenue may be affected.
Twitter is reportedly planning to provide that data as soon as this week.
Critics say Musk is stalling and trying to use the data requests as a way to get out of
the deal or negotiate a better price.
On June 6, Twitter issued a statement in response to a letter it had received accusing the company of refusing to provide the information that's been requested since May 9.
Twitter has and will continue to cooperatively share information with Mr. Musk to consummate the transaction in accordance with the terms of the merger agreement, Scott Bisang, Twitter spokesman, via statement.
We believe this agreement is in the best interest of all shareholders. We intend to close the transaction and enforce the merger agreement at the agreed price and terms, Scott Bisang, Twitter spokesman, via statement
