On May 25, Yasin Malik, Kashmiri separatist, was sentenced to life in prison by a special Delhi court. Malik is convicted for terror funding. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had demanded death penalty, the maximum punishment for Malik. The defence pleaded for life imprisonment. A NDTV report said that Yasin Malik now has the option to appeal the sentencing in the High Court. Yasin Malik had pleaded guilty.
